ONIX FRAME
| The Onix is the perfect introduction to a carbon road bike. It offers all the advantages of carbon manufacturing including lightweight, reliability and comfort. We have used T700 carbon sourced exclusively from the Toray Japanese carbon manufacturing plant. Pre-impregnated carbon is layered in our unique CNC machined mould. A nylon bladder is inflated to 12 bars pressure to ensure that the void content of the layers is minimal. The end product that is achieved is 98% solid. This affects durability and strength which allows Orbea to offer a lifetime warranty on all frames. The bottom bracket cups and headset cups are co-moulded during the curing cycle. The drop outs are bonded using aerospace grade adhesives. When the going gets tough the Onix will respond with a positive and lively feel. The Onix is also subject to Orbea's Finite Element Analysis program, finding the areas which require reinforcement, this is a critical process in making a carbon fibre frame ride correctly, where the layers are placed, what direction and how many, only after this process can Orbea offer a Lifetime Warranty for the original purchase. Our final weave layer both protects from chips and offers protection from UV radiation. Orbea define the way the frame is created and finished from design to end.
